The evolutionary path followed by programmers seems to be repeating itself for Web designers. In the early days of the Web, few people were skilled at implementing Web design—and few of those who were engaging in design were trained in information or visual design. Early Web designers earned lavish compensation their unique skills and they were often lone points of contact for Web design and implementation within their organizations.
